Drug prices in Denmark - Fixes Ceiling for price increase

Ceiling on Increase in Drug Prices

Pharmaceutical Industry in Denmark has also agreed that there will be capped drug prices until 2015. The three-year agreement is an extension of the agreements on price cap, member companies signed in 2006 and 2008 valid for two and three years.

The new agreement means that the price of prescription drugs with supplements, sold in pharmacies in Denmark over the next 15 months should not be raised above the ceiling is applicable with the current price cap agreement.

The prices are so fixed until the first April 2013, the ceiling for the first time must be adjusted by 1.5 percent. The ceiling is regulated by a further 1.5 percent to 1 April 2014.

The agreement is the result of long negotiations between the Pharma Industry in Denmark and the Ministry of Health
