Kitasato Daiichi Sankyo Vaccine Submits a New Drug Application in Japan for the Cell Culture-Based Pandemic Influenza Vaccine

Domestic subsidiary of Daiichi Sankyo - Kitasato Daiichi Sankyo Vaccine Co., Ltd.  has submitted a new drug application to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in Japan for the cell culture-based pandemic influenza vaccine.

In August 2011, Kitasato Daiichi Sankyo Vaccine was selected to receive a grant from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in Japan for a cell culture vaccine production facility and vaccine
development. Kitasato Daiichi Sankyo has been diligently working to build up production capacity by the end of March 2014.

Daiichi Sankyo and Kitasato Daiichi Sankyo Vaccine will strive to contribute to public health in Japan by a rapid production and a stable supply of vaccine required for use in the event a of pandemic.
